Gisteren met mijn zus Mieke de prenten gaan ophangen in de Pas Partout. Heel plezant, we hadden gewacht tot de meeste tafels vrij waren, maar de mensen die er waren begonnen toch al met een rondgang waar er al tekeningen hingen.. Iedereen enthousiast,en raden wie er hing. Als je gaat en je ziet me er zitten, aarzel niet om een tekening te vragen, Ik teken je ter plaatse, duurt zo'n 5-6 minuutjes. Vandaag (en de meeste zaterdagen) ga ik terug, mijn tekenblok heb ik bij, dus...grote glimlach als je bij mij komt zitten ! hahahaha !

Yesterday I went with my sister Mieke tot the restaurant to hang up the caricatures in the restaurant. It was an instant hit ! The few people that were there (we waited until after the meals..) started doing the tour as we were hanging the pictures ! Gigling and guessing who was who, very nice and funny.
Everyone was happy, me and the staff as well, it's going to be funny months...If you come visiting, and you see me there , don't hesitate to come and ask me a caricature, it's funny and only takes up 5-6 mins of your time. So be sure to have your biggest smile with you. hahahaha !

A social restaurant is an initiative I support, it's all about giving people with less or no budget the chance to to a restaurant.The food is excellent,the prices are very cheap for everyone, but special efforts are made for those with lesser luck. IT IS ONLY OPEN AT NOON , FROM 11H45 TO14HOO

Ik hou een tentoonstelling in Brugge. In het sociaal restaurant Pas Partout. Een sociaal restaurant is een bewonderenswaardig initiatief, zodat mensen, die het met minder moeten stellen toch eens op restaurant kunnen gaan. Het eten is voortreffelijk, en zeer goedkoop .
Er gaan een 20- tal digitale én originele prenten hangen, gedurende de zomermaanden.

Dit is een display doos, en enkele flyers . Ik ben van plan om die weg te geven op onder andere de tentoonstelling in Brugge deze zomer. (details hier)
Ik zal er niet altijd zijn, de meeste zaterdagen wel echter. Dit gaat een goede manier zijn om toch contactgegevens achter te laten. Of gewoon voor de liefhebbers.

Joris Goens uit Veurne werd door de derde keer op rij Belgisch kampioen bellenman. Hartelijk gefeliciteerd ,Joris !

SAMER,SAMER,SAMER

I tried something new in Samer, besides drawing in colour. I used a board in acrylate, or plexi (whatever) . This gave ( by means of some backlighting) the opportunity for the people I was drawing, to see what I was doing.
Lots of fun, and interested looks from bystanders as well as the victims. To be repeated.

J'ai essayé quelque chose de nouveau à Samer, à part de dessiner en couleur. J'ai utilisé une plaque en acrylique ou plexi (je m' en fous). Ainsi, à l'aide d'un peu de lumière, les gens pouvaien vour ce que j'étais en train de faire.
Très chouette, beaucoup de curiosité des passants et des victimes...
à répéter, vraiment.

Ik probeerde iets nieuws op het Salon van Samer, naast tekenen in kleur. Ik gebruikte een tekenbord in acryl , of perspex, whatever. Dit gaf de mensen de mogelijkheid (dankzij het licht in de rug) om doorheen de plaat te zien wat ik aan het doen was.
Heel plezant voor zowel de omstaanders als voor de "slachtoffers". Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.

This weekend we had the "Salon de l'humour et de la caricature" in Samer( Fr)
Here's the stand containing my drawings
and paintings. On the outer right was a stunt I did, these were al Sameriens, involved in the making of the Salon.
It was a blast ! everybody laughed his/her head off!

Dit weekend was het "Salon de l'humour et de la caricature" in Samer (FR)
Hieronder de stand met mijn tekeningen. Helemaal rechts was een stunt die ik uithaalde. De personen hierop waren allemaal Sameriens die betrokken waren bij de organisatie van het salon.
Het was een enorm succes. Ze lachten zich een breuk toen ze plots zichzelf zagen !
Nog eens eronder staan de verraste slachtoffers.

Ce week-end, il y avait le "Salon de l'humoer et de la caricature" à Samer (FR).
Ci-dessous, le stand avec mes dessins. Les dessins tout à droite étaient un petit stunt de moi. Les victimes étaient tous des Sameriens qui étaient concerné avec l'organisation du salon.
Une très grande réussite... Ils étaient morts de rire quand ils voyaient eux-mêmes, tout à coup.
Encore dessous, vous voyez les victimes suprises.





















We all had the chance to draw the visitors. I drew for the first time in color...
Iedereen kreeg de kans om zich door een aanwezige caricaturist te laten tekenen. Ik gebruikte voor de eerste keer kleur. Het was een echt succes !
Nous avions tous la chance de dessiner les visiteurs. C'était la première fois que je dessinais en couleur. Un vrai succès!

Bought some Conté crayons. Marvellous colours, wow!
I intend to use them more and more.. will post more drawings soon.
I do these drawings in some 10 minutes, If I can drop the time some more, I will use them in Samer (fr) on the next edition of the "Salon de l'humour et de la caricature".
These were not live-drawings, just a test to try out some exaggeration for a commission
The woman is a famous "Corel Painter Master" the man is her husband .
The pictures do no real justice to the real-world-colors !

J'ai acheté quelques crayons de Conté.
Des couleurs supers, wow!
C'est mon intention de les utiliser de plus en plus. Je vais poster plus de dessins, plus tard.
Je peux faire ces dessins en 10 minutes. Si je peux baisser le temps un peu plus, je veux utiliser mes crayons à Samer (Fr), sur l'édition suivante du Salon de l' Humour et de la caricature.

Ceux-ci ne sont pas de dessins "live", mais seulement un test pour tester quelques exagérations pour un ordre.
La femme est une célèbre "Corel Painter Master", l' homme est son mari.

Les photos ne vous montrent pas les couleurs vrais. Dommage.
